Come and learn new and exciting ways to express yourself through watercolor with internationally recognized artist Carol Carter from St. Louis, Missouri
Carol will share her watercolor techniques through lecture, demonstration, and individual instruction. Each day will feature a detailed demonstration, using an original work as a starting point. For each lesson there will be a 20-minute demonstration, followed by 30 minutes of painting. Imagery, content, and point-of-view are a focus. The brilliance of color and the purity of paint application will be emphasized. Juxtaposition of colors, control of water,compositional considerations and value structure will all be highlighted.
As a focus, botanical and wildlife themes will be explored in this course while encouraging students to develop new and varied subject matter in their work.
Afternoons will be devoted to individual instruction as well as group critique. Carol strives to build an atmosphere of learning by support, encouragement, and answering questions. Classes are non-intimidating, informal and discussion is lively and entertaining. Attendees will find her work to be unique and inspirational.
The workshop will also include tips on marketing your art, resources for supplies, documenting artwork and developing personal imagery.
